The advent of COVID-19 research has brought more academic papers to the public eye than ever before. While open book science is a great practice, we've heard many ask what controls are used in science, and how labs publish their data. Enter Dr. Katie Everson's viral doodles on the publication process. Katie, a post doctoral fellow at the University of Kentucky made a creative set of illustrations describing the publication journey which took off on Facebook and other online platforms. We think Katie's doodles are fantastic and a great description of the efforts required to publish in good academic journals. She has graciously allowed others to use her illustrations.
